Preferred room and roommate description
I have a three-story townhouse at Glenwood and Creedmoor. It has 3 bedroom, 3.5 bathrooms. The main floor is open. I've installed an in-wall/ceiling multi-zone audio system localized on the main level, with speakers in 4 rooms and on the deck, each with volume control units (so you can choose the zone). The ground floor "bedroom" has an official-size pool table (i was terrible at pool and hoped this would make me improve-- still a work in progress). I have two HDTVs hooked up to Dish Network, but I love music-- it is on much more frequently than the tv. I listen to just about everything except for rap... and i don't like loud music.
The third floor has two bedrooms, each with a private bathroom and walk-in closet. The room for rent is 17' x 14' (plus walk in closet and private bathroom dimensions). The walls are painted a rustic blue color... It is minimally furnished, but i don't mind moving the desk/bed/night stands/etc. There is a washer/dryer in the hallway on the 3rd floor.
I live here with my dog, Cooper. He is a 5 lb chihuahua-poodle mix that loves licking people, chasing cats, and barking at the doorbell (usually at Papa John's commercials on TV).
I work in RTP at a pharmaceutical company on drug discovery and pharmacokinetics. I have my PhD in chemistry (Duke) and BS in biochemistry (Virginia Tech). I am obsessed with VT football...
I work about 60 hrs a week... when i'm not working, you can typically find me at a dropzone or airport-- i love skydiving and flying with friends small personal aircrafts. I also love art-- painting, photography, writing-- you name it. I had a dark room set up, but it wasn't practical, so now the equipment is in a closet (bc i didn't use it enough-- i do still pull out my SLR on occasion). I don't have a large back yard, but i've always just put down a drop cloth and painted on the pub table... but there is also the back deck (14'x12') or the small back yard below it.
I am moderately social, i drink, i smoke cigarettes outside occasionally (though i wish i didn't). I am only 27, but most of my close friends are 30-55 years old-- I can't explain why... i guess i just don't like drama or the club scene. I have lived here since 04/2008 and not once thrown a party... i tend to spend my "social" time outdoors jumping, hiking, watching football games, etc...
